1. Wage
survey at Västra Götaland County Administrative
Board
The work has been considered beneficial and the union
view is that wage surveys are a prerequisite for gender
equality.
Wage surveys also boost wage progression and provide an
important basis for pay talks between the employer and
employee. These
are some of the favourable conclusions drawn as a result
of the County Administrative Board’s wage survey.

in the Göteborg region decided
upon a regional collaborative effort focusing initially
on the task of surveying and analysing pay. The municipal
network was launched at the same time as European Project
on Equal Pay, enabling us to share our experiences with
each other and also to exchange thoughts and ideas.

Achieving equal pay in a company or organisation is an
important step towards gender equality. Under the Equal
Opportunities Act, employers are required to survey and
compare pay between women and men performing equal work
or work of equal value. To help us in this undertaking
at Sörmlands Grafiska, we joined the European Project
on Equal Pay, PEP. The network that evolved out of the
project has served as a sounding board and has also provided
valuable support in the task of sorting out the various
practical and strategic questions that have come up from
time to time during the wage survey process.
